1969 (formerly Rock Machine) is a 4 piece Rock covers dance band fronted by Nicole Chesterman Kircher from The California Dreamers and Dr Rock fame. Undoubtedly one of the best female vocalists in Wellington if not NZ, Nicole is a star performer with great stage presence and the ability to sing just about anything.
Excellent musicianship, great vocals and a sexy raunchy show ala Nicole, these guys not only rock the dance floor, but also put on a top notch show that is classy and highly professional.
Guitar duties are taken care of by Darren Whittaker, a founding member of and currently the lead guitarist/manager for New Zealand’s internationally acclaimed Pink Floyd Experience. On drums, also from The Pink Floyd Experience vocalist/drummer extraordinaire Stan Gratkowski and to round of this stunning lineup is bassist/vocalist Sly Shanx.
Add to this line up, some cool lighting and special effects and you have one hell of a party band sure to blow your socks off without blowing your ears away.

Nicole Chesterman Kircher - Lead vocals
Nicole works fulltime as a lead vocalist in a wide range of bands including 'Rock Factory', 'California Dreamers', 'Abba Addiction', 'The Troubadours' and backing vocals for the NZ Pink Floyd Experience etc...occasionally recording jingles for the Radio Network. She is highly regarded as having one of the best rock voices in the business.
Darren Whittaker – Lead Guitar
Darren has played in numerous Wellington bands over the last couple of decades including, Haig, Turbo Rats and Legacy. A founding and current member of New Zealand’s Pink Floyd Experience (An Internationally acclaimed touring show) Darren manages/promotes The Experience and is also involved in various other aspects of the Industry.
Stan Gratowski - Lead vocals / drums
Lead singer with the 'NZ Pink Floyd Experience', lead vocals and drums with rock band 'Turbo Rats', recently playing at the National Harley Davidson Conference at the Westpac Stadium and the National Triumph Owners Conference.
Sly Shanx-Bass / Vocals
Brian has Played in many top Wellington pub and nightclub bands over the years and is currently bassist for NZ’s Joe Cocker Tribute Hitchcock Railway.
