Tim Armstrong Band
Formed originally in 1988 the Tim Armstrong band had two resident positions in Auckland and Hamilton Nightclub’s. They then went overseas to USA and England to perform at various gig’s, calling themselves the (kiwi bandits).
On returning to New Zealand in 1991 they were offered a position playing on the ocean liner the Fairstar which they did for 6 month’s travelling the Pacific Ocean.
For the past ten years the Tim Armstrong band, often called TAB have performed at least twice a week to different audience’s in New Zealand. They are also the resident xmas group at Vilagrad wine’s.
Their style appeals to all people because they play the songs to suit the (Kiwi) crowd they are performing for. Especially with audience’s of all ages, they are mainly renown for their expertise at private functions like weddings, birthday parties, and conference’s.
In 2001 the group ventured to England to play at some prestige kiwi gigs in and around the London area. These were well received by the audience!
Last year the band performed on television several times, once on the good morning show, playing their own original “stormy night” and Tim playing a solo version of “Live again”.
The present line up arrived in 1997:
Tim Armstrong (guitar/Keys/lead Vocals) from the Politician’s a kiwi band which released several single’s and made numerous television appearance’s in the mid 1980’s.
Alan Grady (Drums) ex Knightshade who had several hit singles in New Zealand in the 1980s and early 90s and supported top overseas act‘s.
Don McClumpha (Bass) from various Hamilton bands, Fury and Black Jack.
Ideal for: corporate event dance, wedding reception dance, private party dance

Hi Pete
The performance from Tim and his band was simply outstanding, we and our guests had an amazing time and danced non-stop to a fabulous playlist ranging from all the good oldies that everyone knows the words to, to a special treat for the groom - a favourite Metallica song, to the greatest recent hits like the ever popular Kings of Leon Sex on Fire!
We would recommend them to anyone who wants a thoroughly professional, well presented and highly entertaining band for their function!!
Thanks so much! Please pass on our thanks to Tim and the guys.

Hi Kellie,
We had a truly memorable day and it went mostly without a hitch!
The Tim Armstrong Band were excellent. They were on time, friendly, approachable and had a great range of music which appealed to all our guests. Our dance floor was never empty and our guests commented to us that they thought our band was fantastic. We would not hesitate to recommend the Tim Armstrong Band to anyone.
You can defintely use our comments on your website.
Thanks again Kellie.

Thanks Kellie
The band was fantastic and everyone enjoyed themselves immensely. They had us all up dancing the whole time with great music/musicianship.
I’m sure there will be a lot of repeat business after that performance, and I think that TAB have set a standard for the Fire Brigade functions in this area that will be hard to beat.
Once again, many thanks for arranging them.
Neil Ranford
Hi Kellie,
We had an absolutely fabulous wedding and party. The band was excellent.
They were very professional and they played really great music. A large
number of our guests commented on how good the band was and the band
certainly had everybody up dancing and having a fun time. They even
allowed a few of the young girls to sing (questionable, more like yell)
"Mustang Sally" and that was very funny.
Our thanks to the Tim Armstrong Band.
Kind Regards
Peter and Jain Tait
