MR FUNGUS - New Zealand’s Loudest Mime
Award-winning character MR FUNGUS presents high energy visual and verbal comedy shows for all ages from aged 4 upwards –with interactive mime, juggling and cat-swinging.
Created by comedian Fergus Aitken, MR FUNGUS has played in over 15 countries.
In a varied comedy career spanning four decades and 15 countries, Fergus has experienced many bizarre encounters with the truth... including several standing ovations at nudist festivals. Fergus has achieved critical acclaim with his stand-up and character performances, at comedy clubs and events throughout Aotearoa and beyond.
Performances include international festivals, corporate functions, cabaret and theatre shows, roving and street entertainment.
Fergus has been a living mannequin at Madam Tussaud's, mimed in Moscow, juggled with the NZSO, played as a street act throughout the UK and Europe, hosted rock concerts, played to 3,500 people a night at The World of Wearable Art, and at Sweetwaters '99, his character MR FUNGUS was (inadvertently) a warm-up mime for the Wiggles. Opening act for international mentalist Morgan Strebler, the World of Wearable Art Awards Show, Fiji Showcase, Port Fairy Folk Festival in Victoria, Glastonbury, Sweetwaters & Homegrown music festivals, street shows at the Edinburgh Fringe and throughout the UK, Europe and Australasia.
