Whether you're looking for some chilled out acoustic music for your next party, wedding, or corporate event, or an engaging concert experience for your festival or music hall, Melissa Cox delivers the goods with her evocative voice, award-winning original songs, and creative renditions of classic rock and folk songs.

Her main instruments are Voice, Guitar, Mandolin and Irish Whistle, Melissa also plays a bit of piano.

With over 10 albums, tens of thousands of tour miles, and several songwriting awards under her belt, US-born, New Zealand-based artist Melissa Cox has built a successful indie career with her captivating blend of neo-Celtic, World beat, folk rock and electronic, earning her comparisons to Loreena McKennitt, Enya, the Cranberries, Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, and Florence and the Machine.

Not one to be shackled to any one genre, Cox runs the gamut of musical styles: from Irish whistle infused folk ballads to heart-pounding rock anthems, delicate, sorrowful piano melodies to fun, jaunty bluegrass tunes, and deep, swirling electronic prog rock pieces, Cox swings wildly from one emotional story to the next, using her provocative voice to thread it all together.

A classically trained vocalist, Cox grew up singing solos for her church and school choirs. At age 14, she taught herself how to play guitar, and by 16 she was a regular at the open mic nights in her home state of Delaware. In college, she started the award-winning Celtic Fusion band Mythica and went on to open for several big name acts including the Spin Doctors, Sister Hazel, Smash Mouth, and Three Dog Night.
